The family of polar bears in the north pole had a tough time in the middle of May but it started out easier. The quiet family consisted of 4 large furry polar bears, living in Polar City, right outside of The North Pole. WIth their pet penguin named Spot. Mr. Williams just got a new job in the big city in the north pole and the two cubs, Icey and Gunther, had just started school.
Then one dark and stormy day the Walrus Gang invaded. They started kicking the families out of their homes so they could start their own city where they could party all day and night long and do nothing else helpful for anybody. The Williams’ lived out on the street with hundreds of other polar bears, and they didn’t have nearly as much strength the walruses. Their tusks the size of mountains that could rip apart anything. A wall appeared outside of the town within a day leaving the polar bears in the frigid air. A solution wasn’t obvious, some of the polar bears even just quit and started migrating to other cities. An idea formed in Icey’s head. Spot made a call to every last penguin he knew and they all started lining up around the city. The polar bears stood around the city just waiting for it all to start. Then a loud horn went off. All the penguins started pecking at the wall making it weaker and weaker by the second. Small holes started to open up until it got to the point the entire all fell down. The polar bears then stormed the city throwing their frozen fish like ninja stars at the walruses. The blubbery beasts had no time to react and they started to run back to the castle but some of them could not outrun the penguins and the slow walruses were forced to surrender. This giant victory gave the bears hope. However they still didn’t have the walruses beat. Some of the the partiers retreated to the walrus castle and now they would be prepared. The polar bears knew they needed a new plan because they weren’t as strong as the walruses even though they now had smaller numbers. Icey decided maybe if they attacked when they were least expected they had a chance. The bears decided to attack that night but they had to be sneaky because of the watchmen. They had the vision of an eagle, flashlights, and lightning quick reflexes so things could go wrong very fast. The bears sent a small group of their best bears so they wouldn’t be caught. At midnight they left their tents for the castle. The giant furry bears got there and snuck around all of the guards with just a few close calls. They dodged all their flashlights and went completely unseen like giant ninjas. They kept going until they got to the front door of where the king lived. Nervously Gunther opened the door and it went bad from there. As soon as he opened the door the Walruses attacked and captured him in seconds. The rest of the polar bears shock froze them to the point where they didn’t do anything about it until his capture was complete. Then finally Icey yelled, “Well don’t just stand there do something!”. Then madness ensued. They started throwing fish at them and the penguins came in from outside. The castle began crumbling around them. Icey saw the king laying on the ground and Icey could easily capture him and finish the fight. However, on the other side of the room they had Gunther tied up, ready to be thrown into the frigid waters. Icey had to choose but it seemed obvious to her. She knew she had to go save her brother. She threw some fish at the walruses and untied Gunther he had terror in his eyes and couldn’t move so Icey left him there and took some more polar bears to chase the king who was running out of the city. Icey and the other bears eventually caught him and the king fought valiantly but he finally gave up. The polar bears tied him up and decided they would turn him into jail when they had it rebuilt. The polar bears had a giant party but it didn’t last very long. The giant white bears had to start rebuilding all the houses and buildings because they had all be beaten up and some didn’t even stand anymore. Over months they finished rebuilding the city better than it ever was. Now every year to celebrate her heroics they celebrate Icey day on May 28th.

Tyrese woke up in the middle of the night for he knew the next day he would be going to Colorado, which is in the United States of America! After thirty minutes of being awake with pure excitement. His dad came in and said,
“What’s with all the hullabaloo?” Tyrese, who was only seven just could not hide his excitement and said with a louder tone, “Sorry dad I’m just so excited for our trip.” “So am I”, said his dad. “Though you need to get back to sleep we have a big day tomorrow.” Tyrese finally fell back asleep. Life was not all that easy for Tyrese. He lived in the Nubian desert. Every day he had to help his dad farm, even though they live in the desert. His house was made of a tin and had no air conditioning. He also had dirt floors but they had been saving all of their money to take one trip to the USA to visit their family, and it was most likely the only trip they would get. Tyrese had big brown eyes and very thick hair. He did not have nice clothes, they came from a used clothing drive. He knew that for two weeks he was going to live the high life. Morning finally came and they rushed off to the airport, it was really just a dirt road with a plane. He got and the seats to him were like heaven. On this plane he saw TV something he would die for. All of this to him was like the best life that anyone could ask for. After the twenty hours and a Star Wars movie he was finally in Colorado. His extended family rushed to give him a hug, he couldn’t believe what he could see, they were in the hood of colorado. It was winter time there and to him it felt like one million degrees below zero. A true miracle, flushing toilets and running water. Suddenly he realized he was out of place. He didn’t feel like he belonged there, though he went with it. They had a very delicious dinner, he ate just McDonalds, though to him it tasted a five star restaurant. Now the end of the day and time for bed. He sat in bed and yet he missed his home and wished that he actually wasn’t there. They woke up bright and early and went down to mesa verde. He was stunned to see the indian ruins and the weather, a bit chilly, felt good with all of the hiking. Seeing all of the indian ruins was way cool, he enjoyed to pretend to be an indian. Finally the day was over. The next morning they went down town he thought it was mind boggling to see so many lights. Though being down there people seemed to avoid him and it made him feel bad, while they were down there they saw an ice skating ring. They decided to give it a try. He got on his ice skates and went right and to the ring and then boom! He fell right down and it hurt more than when he was bitten by a snake. He got back up but then he slipped forward right down on to his face. He tried to get back up but then just fell again. He then said, “To hell with this!” Something he heard his extended family say all the time. His mom came by and he asked his mom, “How much longer are we going to be here for?” His mom then said, “Oh about another hour and a half.” “Another hour and a half!?” he thought to himself, he knew he doesn’t belong here he wanted to be home, but right then he got an idea. He said to his mom, “I’m going to go get a drink.” “Alright” said his mom. Though he wasn’t really about to just go get a drink, this idea he thought would get them right home. After he got his drink he took his skates off, he knew he could not take another hour and a half of this. He took his left ice skate and stabbed it right into his right knee. He screamed in pain the blood was gushing out it was coming out of his mouth. A bystander saw this and called 911 his family rushed over to him and asked, “why the **** did you just ****ing do that!?” he then replied, “I did not want to wait for that long.” the paramedics rushed over to him and took him to the hospital and got him all stitched up. Unfortunately the stitches cost four thousand dollars. Tyrese’s family doesn’t have that kind of money. They could not not able to buy the plane ticket back home. Their extended family let them stay at their house for a couple months but the extended family does not have a lot of money and eventually had to kick them out. They no longer had a home all because of tyrese’s stupid decision. His family was separated, where they all are no one quite knows for sure. Sorrows of people, and the sound of rain pattering on the roof sounds like something that I thought would only happen in a movie. That isn’t the case today. I never thought something like this would feel like a big weight on my chest, crushing me slowly.
The choir sings, welcoming the people inside. As everyone settles downs, the headmaster begins to talk in a low, soft voice; “today we gather for the passing of Maddox.” and so on. One by one someone gets up talking about what a wonderful life he had. Football player, musician and singer, straight “A” student; never did I hear about emotions. Called to the stage, I shake nervously not knowing what will come out, or if anything at all would come out of my mouth. I don’t know what to say, and if I do I don’t know how to say it. I feel each leg quiver as I slowly stand up; with every inch I rise, I feel myself not being able to do this anymore. All of a sudden I’m outside. Standing in the pouring rain, I begin to ponder on what it’s like. What is it like to be in his shoes? Whats going on right now? I just need to know! Night finally came, friends and family gather talking about his ups and his downs. Laughing and crying. Silence and clamor. Everybody is doing something, beside myself. I sit in the corner sobbing, knowing that I’m only the only that really knows what has happened. As everyone has gone home, I lay in bed waiting. Longer and longer I wait until it’s dawn, and I still haven’t heard anything. As I leave my room, the smell of oatmeal and bacon fills the house. “Kay, sweety! Breakfast is ready!” mom said. “Just like your brother used to love.” As we finish breakfast the news turns on. “It’s been discovered that there's a new hero in town… A guy with the curliest of hair, the reddest of noses, and the biggest feet in the world, bringing joy to every family in town!” The reporter then shows a picture of the “New hero in town”. I sigh, finally have a piece at mind, knowing that he’s okay. Falling in nothing but darkness, the darkness seemed to grow more and more as he fell. Two minutes felt like two hours, falling faster and faster with every passing second of eternity until he suddenly jerked to a halt. Suspended in mid air, eyes close, sheens of sweat pouring out of his face, the faint whispers of, “not like this, not like this”, as he fell. A few minutes had passed and he finally opened his eyes, stopped there in nothing but darkness, alone, cold, afraid. Then color came to him and the world started to take shape around him faster than anything he had seen before.
To him it felt like sitting in front of the world’s largest tv. The first things he saw materialize into touchable material was the grass of a cool summer evening, next the ocean, then the clouds, the sky, the, sun, the moon, all blazing past him in a whirl of color, but no sound. Stopping for a moment to make sense of what had happened, but nothing came to mind. He had seen nothing like it in his life. Then he looked up and to what would appear was a younger boy and his grandmother sitting on a cliff's edge, talking, but he could hear no sound. He tried to listen to hear the sound but there was nothing not even the soft breeze. Then as if something had hit him on the head with all of its strength, like a truck plowing into him at full speed, it came to him. That boy was him and that was his grandmother, he had a sudden moment of fear and sadness. He tried to yell, but the only thing he could hear was him inside his head, he tried to shout with all of his might until he became light headed. He sat there for moments that turned into minutes, and minutes that turned into hours. When he finally had the courage to look up at the boy and the old lady ,who looked too old to be alive, he realized that this was a dream, a memory within a dream, it was of his grandmother long ago on the ocean side with him. With his mother and father gone both in an accident, she was left to take care of him, and he was left to take care of her, they only had each other, but over the years he had distanced himself from her. Next thing the boy knew was he had woken up in a cold sweat, and he knew he needed to go back to his grandmother. Family. Family is always there for you. They boost your high moments even higher. They pull you back from the dark abyss below. They support you no matter who you are, or what you may have become. But when you really hurt family, the world around you seems to completely shatter.
The birds no longer sing, the bugs in the garden don’t buzz, and only the pitter patter of rain and the howl of wind remain. You creep away to your room, the only place you can find temporary comfort. You retreat out of pitty for yourself, to avoid the unusually long gap of awkward silence. You sprawl out on your bed and thoughts of the terrible confrontation that took place moments ago race through your mind. You hear muffled conversation outside that comes by in short bursts, and every now and then you think you hear footsteps walk up to your door but they turn away after a moment. You attempt to entertain yourself and sooth your wounds, but to no avail as you can’t rid yourself of the guilt that consumes you. It seems that time itself has come to a complete standstill. Seconds slowly go by, then minutes, then hours, and then you realize darkness has filled your room. You slowly cry off into a deep sleep. You wake up slowly, almost forgetting about what happened, but then it all comes back to you. The moonlight still peeks through your shutters, and your clock reads 3:00 in the morning. You lay there, not able to drift back into sleep. You sit there, accompanied by your guilt. You think about just staying locked away in your room forever, but eventually you come to the realization that sooner or later you will have to confront your family. You hope they have forgotten about it or that it will all just be brushed under the rug. You lay there for several more hours just thinking about some way to reedeem yourself. Light slowly begins to creep into your room through the closed shutters. You decide to finally end your solitary confinement and head to the family room. Unsurprisingly, no one else has woken yet. You turn on the T.V. with the volume adjusted way down low. You don’t really watch, you just think, think about what you’ve done. “Maybe they’ll never come out. Maybe they’ll just stay hidden away in their rooms.” You think to yourself. Suddenly you hear the creak of an opening door. You feel both relief and dread. The relief of knowing this will soon come to an end, but the dread of what will come of it. Both of your parents come out of their room to come eat breakfast and watch T.V. or read the newspaper. They say, “Good morning.” “Good morning,” you finally manage to squeak back. Your parents just idly converse until you finally bring up the topic you’ve been dreading. You say, “I’m really sorry for what I did yesterday.” Awkwardly, your parents don’t even scold you as they know the mental strife you’ve already gone through. They say, “We forgive you, just don’t do that again, and we’re sure you’ve learned a valuable lesson.” Just as you think you might be getting out of this easy your parents say, “And you’re grounded.” Everything turns out okay though because after a week or so, things return to normal and your family forgives you completely. Another great thing about family, no matter what you do or how much you hurt them, they always forgive you in the end. The words last always seem to pierce something in my heart. Like, last words, last time, last love. Last always means final. The final words, the final time, the final love, the final kiss. Nothing ever last forever, everything has to come to end: life, pain, memories. Love doesn’t stop, love will always last forever. When two people get married the pastor will say, “Will you love her, comfort her, honor her, and keep her, in sickness and in health; and forsaking all others, keep thee unto her so long as you both shall live?” Then usually the man says yes and the woman says yes and then they are married. Through this they promise to love each other through everything, through the good times and the bad times. Death would not come between their love, nothing would. Love will last forever and conquer all. Becky thought about this through her getting ready for her magical wedding.
“I really do love him, but I don’t know how to say it to him,” Becky says smoothing down her dress while looking in the mirror. The love she felt for her fiance was indescribable. She had never felt this way about anyone before in her life. “He knows that you love him and he loves you too. Everything is going to work out perfectly,” said Becky’s mom. “Nothing can ruin your perfect day today.” Becky turns around from looking in the mirror and hugs her mom and smiles. “It’s time,” Becky’s mom says and wraps her arm around her. The two walked down the aisle together arm in arm. Her vision tunneled to one person. Daryl stood at the opposite end of the aisle. His eyes gleamed in the sunlight. Her face lit up when she saw him. Becky’s dress flowed as she walked down the aisle. Becky looks at her mom and kisses her on the cheek. “Thanks for always being there for me. I really wish dad was able to come today. I love you mama,” spoke Becky softly to her mom. “Your father would have loved to be here. The cancer just took him too quick. He never liked missing out on events,” Angela whispered back to her. “Never forget that you are my little girl and that I will always love you.” The two women smile back at each other. Becky lets go of her mom’s arm and takes Daryl’s hand. “Don’t take this the wrong way, but I knew you were going to look beautiful today, but wow!” her soon to be husband says with a big smile on his face and in his eyes. “Do you take this woman to be your wife?” said the pastor. “I do” “Do you take this man to be your husband?” “I do.” Daryl’s hands wrapped around her waist as he pulled her in closer. Her face started to get hot. Her heart started to race. The sensation of waiting any longer frightened her. She looked at his face not noticing the tiny little scar on his cheek. Their lips touched. The warmth of his mouth sent a current running through her body. She wrapped her hands around his neck as he dipped her down. She laughed while still kissing him. She stood back up with her hands still around his neck. They grab each other’s hand and start to walk back down the aisle to the door. Becky looks back at her mom and smiles. “Thanks mama. You taught me well.” Becky walks out the door with Daryl’s hand in here’s. That was the final kiss I gave my husband for the rest of my life, until I seem him again when I go away too. The words still last in my mind, “love is like the wind, you can never see it, but the love is there.” “The memory will always play in my mind.” “Daryl watch out!” Becky screamed. John couldn’t be happier about his life. John Krow worked as a police officer that worked a 12 hour shift from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. He and his wife Abigail lived in Grantsville, Utah. they had a nice home with two stories. 10 months earlier, he and his wife had been blessed with a baby that they named Rick. Before, they had made Rick's room amazing. In the back corner of the room they had placed a crib with airplane toys all around the room.
They had bought a lot of toy cars and put them in bins. Most of the cars were police cars because John wanted Rick to like police officers. They had painted the room a dark blue and placed stars all over. They had also bought a toy car track that Rick would be able to use his cars on. Rick had started to learn how to play with the cars. Sometimes he would throw them across the room. While watching the news and getting ready for work John heard footsteps upstairs, at first he thought it was Abigail then he heard a crash, then his wife scream for help, then a gunshot. He quickly reached for his gun…silence. He slowly walked up the stairs to his bedroom. He opened the door and saw his wife on the floor dead with a bullet hole through her heart. John bolted to Rick’s room, Rick was gone. He turned around just in time to see a man pointing a gun at his head. BANG!!! Everything went black. I woke up one day getting ready for school I changed washed my teeth I did everything and as I walking out the door I see our new neighbor. He was a large tall and had no family. He was in his garage sitting in a plastic chair. I lifted my hand and said
“hello” the man did not respond he just looked at me with eyes of the of the devil. “Maybe there is a reason he has no family” I thought, so I turned and walked to my bus and sat next to a boy that said “ I don’t think that guy likes you rob, Is he a new neighbor” “Yea” I responded. I said nothing for the rest of the time, and neither did he. As the rest of they day had gone by I had thought of the man next door what was wrong with him maybe he was just having a bad morning. The end of the school day came I walked out of my classroom walked outside to the bus, after around 10 min our bus had arrived to the stop. I got off the bus and began to walk home as I reaching my house when I realized the man in the garage was still sitting there, but this time there was a table in front of him with a knife on top of the table, and a red puddle that appeared to look like blood. the man looked over straight into my eyes the man waved hello at me. “I began to wonder was he mocking me from this morning why did he wave?” I began to tremble with fear before I could run inside to my house the man pushed his chair slowly back, set both of his feet firmly on the ground and the man slowly stood up looked at me then looked down grabbed the knife wiped the blood stain off the knife with a rag he had near. looking straight at me the suddenly the man suddenly turned around and walk inside his house. With all this happening I was paralyzed with fear but right as the man had turned around I had managed to move and ran to the door opened it, got inside and slammed the door behind me with a sigh of relief. Then my mother said “ Hi honey, we're going to have a guest over for dinner, he is our new neighbor, I insisted I would cook but he said no that he would cook, he said the he would be cooking deer meat. I've noticed he likes to fix his meat up outside in the warm sun” then I said “Oh! Yea I just saw him outside”. It was the best night of my entire life! I was with the girl of my dreams and the night was perfect. We had just gotten off of the ferris wheel (the most romantic of all fair rides) and were just getting some cotton candy. I made the stupid joke that she was as sweet as her cotton candy and she laughed. Later, as we were walking out of the park, the fireworks from the fair started shooting off. I knew in that moment of fire and glory that now was the time. I held both of her hands and looked deeply into her eyes. I started to move in slowly, her lips were so beautifully red that I counted myself lucky to know a girl like her. As I moved in, my heart started to beat so fast until wham! I kissed her! At least, that was my dream. That’s all I can think about when I see Sophia Smith at my school in downtown New York.
My name is Herman Fitzgerald. I’m what you would call a “geek” but I prefer to call myself an above average individual. I were these awesome glasses that are about an inch thick and I have a pocket protector protector protector. I was always into girls. Our school dance is coming up in 2 months and I want to ask Sophia but I knew I had to make an impression on her. We have the same P.E class and I thought it was the perfect time to make my move. Girls love a macho man right? So all I had to do was make myself as macho as I could. I made sure to be at the weight lifting station as soon as she walked by. When she finally did, i lifted the heaviest thing In my entire life: a five pound weight. She just looked and laughed at me. The next day, I made sure to be at the station again but this time was going to be different. I got onto the bench press and put every weight there was onto the barbell and when she came, I lifted. It got up about 2 inches and then it came crashing down right on top of my chest, pinning me to the bench press and having everyone laughing at me while the janitor came and helped me get out of that situation. After that, I quit trying to get her attention in P.E and instead, joined the basketball team. I knew that she went to every game so she was bound to see me dunking on all of those fools. The only problem that I could find is the team that we were going against was the best in the state. I told Sophia to look for me at the game and she just looked at me and said “Oh, are you in the Marching Band?” I told her that I was actually playing in the game and surprise, surprise, she laughed at me again! The day finally came when I was going to impress my crush. I played the game and in my eyes, I was pretty good, but in the eyes of everybody else, I was the worst player that they had ever seen. The other team creamed us, 1000-2. I couldn’t help feeling like I was a failure so I walked home all by myself. As I walked, who else but Sophia Smith pulled up beside me and offered me a ride home, I graciously accepted and got in. As we rode, sophia told me how cool I was putting my body on the line for the school's entertainment and how cool I was for thinking about my body in the weight room. I told her that I was only doing those things to impress her and she said “Why would you do that? I’ve always had a crush on you ever since kindergarten. I’ve been to scared to tell you how I feel because I thought you wouldn’t feel the same about me.” Well, right here is when my heart leapt for joy! I asked her, “Do you want to go to the dance with me?” I had barely said the last word when she said yes with so much enthusiasm, I thought the car was going to explode. She had only one condition though. We had to go to the county fair. Well, my greatest dreams had finally come true. As I moved in, my heart started to pump until Wham! I kissed her! And it was just as good as I had dreamed it would be. We made it to the dance and we danced the night away. After, her dad drove us home and when we got to her front door, I did the most stereotypical thing ever. I kissed her goodnight. That was undoubtedly the best night of my life. Today, me and my family started heading to warm San Diego, California for a vacation. We live in Salt Lake City, Utah so it’s about a 12 hour drive to San Diego. My two little sisters and older brother all started to pack our bags and our mom and dad loaded them into the minivan and we started heading out. It was mid december so everything there was covered in many feet of snow and ice. I am mostly going to miss the fresh powder at Brighton, they have the best snow and trails up there, perfect for snowboarding. My friends are going up there this week without me cause our school is out for winter break.
After a long couple of hours of driving, we stopped in St. George for lunch and a little break. We finally got out of the car and stretched our legs after being crammed in a car for 3 and a half hours. We decided to go to Wendy’s because it is one of our favorite places to eat. Everyone always gets the same thing when we go there, I usually get a jr. bacon cheese burger with lots of fries and a big drink, then the rest of my family gets their salads and kids meals. Our grandparents live in St. George so we went and visited them because we hardly get to see them. They have a really nice golf course that they live by and everytime we visit them, my grandpa takes out and we play a long 18 hole game. We said our goodbye’s and we started back on the road, by now we have about 8-9 more hours to get there. Another 2 hours went by and got to Vegas. It was night time when we got there so there’s a butt-load of traffic. We decided to take a little break and go down the strip to shop and see the city lights. There were a lot of crazy people, if you know what I mean, always giving us weird advice like the world was going to end and stuff. We left as soon as that happened more than enough, but I have really changed the love for my family because it brought us together making fun of the weirdos. When we left for vegas, there was still 6 more hours to go, so we just slept the rest of the way until we got there around midnight. Everyone was so exhausted from the ride, we didn't even bring our luggage into the room. The check-in took longer than necessary, but we finally made it and crashed out for a fun weekend. |
